เมื่อวันที่ 12 เมษายน 2569 นายนฤชัย นินนาท กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ ได้เข้าร่วมงานมหาสงกรานต์ ณ วัดป่าพุทธรังษี ลูเมียห์ โดยมีนาย Darcy Lound นายกเทศมนตรีเมือง Campbelltown และนาย Masud Khalil สมาชิกสภาเมือง Campbelltown ให้เกีรยติเข้าร่วมงานด้วย
ในโอกาสนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้ร่วมเป็นประธานในพิธี กล่าวอวยพรเนื่องในโอกาสวันขึ้นปีใหม่ไทย พร้อมทั้งชื่นชมชุมชนที่ร่วมกันสืบสานประเพณีอันงดงามนี้ไว้
ภายในงานมีกิจกรรมหลากหลาย ประกอบด้วย การแห่พระพุทธรูปรอบพระเจดีย์ การถวายภัตตาหารเพลแด่พระภิกษุสงฆ์ ขบวนกลองยาว การแสดงดนตรีและนาฏศิลป์ไทยจากโรงเรียนและคณะต่าง ๆ ในชุมชนไทย ตลอดจนการออกร้านอาหารไทยและนานาชาติ โดยมีพุทธศาสนิกชนจากหลากหลายเชื้อชาติเข้าร่วมงานอย่างคับคั่ง
นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการแสดงสัมโมทนียกถาโดยพระธรรมวชิรรังษี เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่ผู้ร่วมงาน เนื่องในโอกาสวันขึ้นปีใหม่ไทย
On 12 April 2026, Mr Naruchai Ninnad, Consul-General of Thailand in Sydney, attended the Maha Songkran Festival at Wat Pa Buddharangsee in Leumeah. Also attending the event as guests of honour were Lord Mayor Darcy Lound of Campbelltown and Campbelltown City Councillor Masud Khalil.
On this occasion, the Consul-General co-presided over the ceremony and delivered remarks extending his best wishes on the occasion of the Thai New Year, while commending the community for its continued efforts in preserving this beautiful tradition.
The event featured a wide range of activities, including a procession of the Buddha image around the pagoda, the offering of alms to Buddhist monks, a traditional long drum procession, and Thai music and classical dance performances by schools and various community groups. There were also stalls offering Thai and international cuisine. The festival was well attended by Buddhist devotees and visitors from diverse backgrounds.
In addition, a sermon was delivered by Phra Dhammavajirangsi to bless attendees on the occasion of the Thai New Year.
