เมื่อวันที่ 30 พฤษภาคม 2569 นายนฤชัย นินนาท กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ ได้กล่าวเปิดงานเทศกาลมหาหมอลำ “Molam to the World” ณ Marko’s Restaurant นครซิดนีย์ ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมและเผยแพร่ศิลปะการแสดงหมอลำและวัฒนธรรมอีสานของไทยสู่สายตานานาชาติ ภายในงานมีการแสดง Mini Concert โดยคณะไพรบูลย์ เสียงทอง สารคาม จากมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ซึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนจากหน่วยบริหารและจัดการทุนด้านการเพิ่มความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศ (บพข.) หน่วยบริหารจัดการทุนด้านการเพิ่มความสามารถการแข่งขัน สำนักงานเร่งรัดการวิจัยและนวัตกรรมเพื่อเพิ่มความสามารถการแข่งขันและการพัฒนาพื้นที่ (องค์การมหาชน) เพื่อนำเสนอการแสดงหมอลำกลอนประยุกต์และหมอลำซิ่งอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ โดดเด่นด้วยลีลาการลำที่สนุกสนานและเปี่ยมด้วยเสน่ห์ของวัฒนธรรมอีสาน ท่ามกลางผู้เข้าร่วมงานจากชุมชนไทย ลาว และชาวออสเตรเลียจำนวนมาก

งานดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นด้วยความร่วมมือของสมาคมร้านอาหารไทยแห่งประเทศออสเตรเลีย Thai Restaurant Association of Australia (TRAA) มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม และชมรมดนตรีไทยและนาฏศิลป์แห่งประเทศออสเตรเลีย โดยมีเป้าหมายในการผลักดันและเผยแพร่หมอลำในฐานะมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมและ Soft Power ที่สำคัญของไทยสู่เวทีสากล

ในโอกาสต่อมา เมื่อวันที่ 1 มิถุนายน 2569 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารค่ำ ณ บ้านพักกงสุลใหญ่ เพื่อขอบคุณคณะผู้จัดงานและคณะศิลปินที่ร่วมขับเคลื่อนโครงการดังกล่าว โดยกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้ชื่นชมความมุ่งมั่นของทุกภาคส่วนที่ร่วมกันอนุรักษ์และส่งเสริมศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย พร้อมทั้งเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจอันดีและความสัมพันธ์อันใกล้ชิดระหว่างประชาชนไทย ออสเตรเลีย และชุมชนในภูมิภาค

On 30 May 2026, Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Consul-General of Thailand in Sydney, delivered opening remarks at the “Molam to the World” event held at Marko’s Restaurant in Sydney. The event was organised to promote and showcase Molam, the traditional performing art and cultural heritage of Thailand’s Northeastern (Isan) region, to international audiences. The event featured a mini concert by the Praiboon Siangthong Sarakham Molam Troupe from Mahasarakham University supported by Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) Research and Innovation Acceleration Agency for Competitiveness and Area Development (RCAD). The show presented distinctive performances of applied Molam Klon and Molam Sing. Characterised by lively rhythms, engaging performances, and the unique charm of Isan culture, the concert attracted a large audience from the Thai, Lao, and Australian communities.

The event was organised through the collaboration of the Thai Restaurant Association of Australia (TRAA), Mahasarakham University, the Thai Australian Association of Australia, and the Thai Music and Dance Association of Australia, with the shared objective of promoting Molam as an important element of Thailand’s cultural heritage and soft power on the international stage.

Subsequently, on 1 June 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney hosted a dinner reception at the Consul-General’s Residence in appreciation of the organisers and artists involved in the project. On this occasion, the Consul-General commended the dedication of all parties in preserving and promoting Thai arts and culture, while also strengthening mutual understanding and fostering closer ties among the Thai and Australian peoples, as well as communities across the region.
