เมื่อวันที่ 14 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นางสาวอาจารี ศรีรัตนบัลล์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา และนายนฤชัย นินนาท กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการทีมประเทศไทย ได้เข้าร่วมงาน Sydney Lunar Streets – Haymarket Street Festival เพื่อร่วมเฉลิมฉลองเทศกาลตรุษจีนประจำปี โดยมีประชาชนและนักท่องเที่ยวจากหลากหลายเชื้อชาติร่วมงานอย่างคึกคัก บรรยากาศภายในงานประกอบด้วยการแสดงดนตรี การแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย การแสดงมวยไทย ตลาดอาหาร และกิจกรรมเดินขบวนกลองยาวประเพณี ตลอดจนตลาดชุมชนไทยที่จัดขึ้นบนถนน Campbell ที่สะท้อนความเข้มแข็งของชุมชนไทยในนครซิดนีย์ และการมีส่วนร่วมของไทยในสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมของออสเตรเลีย กิจกรรมครั้งนี้ถือเป็นเวทีสำคัญที่ชุมชนไทยในนครซิดนีย์ได้ร่วมเฉลิมฉลองและเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมไทย ทำให้ย่านไทยทาวน์เป็นหนึ่งในจุดหมายสำคัญของเทศกาลที่มีสีสันและความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมในนครซิดนีย์

ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตและกงสุลใหญ่ได้พูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นกับนาง Clover Moore นายกเทศมนตรีนครซิดนีย์ และ Councillor Robert Kok สมาชิกสภาเทศบาลนครซิดนีย์ เกี่ยวกับบทบาทและความเข้มแข็งของชุมชนไทยในนครซิดนีย์ ตลอดจนความสำคัญของการส่งเสริมความเป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกันของสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมในนครซิดนีย์ ซึ่งเป็นพื้นฐานสำคัญของการอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างสันติและสร้างสรรค์

On 14 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Consul-General in Sydney, together with officials of Team Thailand, attended the Sydney Lunar Streets – Haymarket Street Festival to celebrate the annual Lunar New Year Festival. The festival drew a vibrant crowd of locals and visitors from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, creating a dynamic and lively atmosphere. The event provided an important platform for the Thai community in Sydney to celebrate and promote Thai culture, further establishing Thaitown as one of the vibrant and culturally diverse highlights of Sydney.

The programme featured musical performances, Thai cultural performances, Muay Thai demonstrations, food stalls, a traditional long-drum procession, as well as a Thai community market along Campbell Street. The event reflected the strength of the Thai community in Sydney and Thailand’s active contribution to Australia’s multicultural society.

On this occasion, the Ambassador and the Consul-General met with The Right Honourable Clover Moore AO, Lord Mayor of the City of Sydney, and Councillor Robert Kok, City of Sydney. They exchanged views on the role and dynamism of the Thai community in Sydney, as well as the importance of fostering unity within Sydney’s multicultural society, which serves as an essential foundation for peaceful and constructive coexistence.
