On 7 October 2025, Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Consul-General of Thailand in Sydney, delivered the welcome remarks at the Southern Innovation and Technology Expo (SITE) 2026 Sydney Roadshow held at Park Hyatt Sydney Hotel, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Songchai Thitasomakul, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prince of Songkla University, who led a delegation from the university.
The event was also honoured by remarks from Dr. Patricia Jenkins, President of the United Nations Association of Australia (NSW), Mrs. Kai Hillam, President of the Asian Australian Business Council Inc. and Mr. Zann Maxwell, Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney, who welcomed over 100 participants representing government agencies and the business sector.
The event was jointly organized by Prince of Songkla University, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney, the Tourism Authority of Thailand Sydney Office, and the Asian Australian Business Council to promote the upcoming SITE 2026, which will be held from 5 to 8 February 2026 at the Songkhla International Convention Centre in Thailand.
During the Sydney Roadshow, SITE 2026 highlighted Thailand’s expertise in CAR-T Cell Redefining Cancer Treatment, natural anti-aging innovations, and advanced dentistry, areas in which Thailand is internationally recognized. The event also served as a platform to foster research collaboration and business partnerships between Thailand and Australia.
The upcoming SITE 2026 in Thailand will feature four main sectors, including Medical and Wellness, Digital, Food and Agriculture, and Energy, showcasing southern Thailand’s potential as a hub for innovation and a sustainable economy in ASEAN while reinforcing the country’s position as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE).
Prior to the event, on 6 October 2025, the Consul-General hosted a dinner reception in honour of the PSU delegation at the Consul-General’s Residence.
