เมื่อวันที่ 14 มีนาคม 2568 นางหัทยา คูสกุล กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานเลี้ยงอาหารค่ำ เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่สวัสดิภาพสมาคมและศาสตราจารย์ Tony Moon เนื่องในโอกาสได้รับเหรียญตรา Order of Australia Medal (OAM) อันทรงเกียรติ ในฐานะผู้มีคุณูปการโดดเด่นต่อวงการอุดมศึกษา

ศาสตราจารย์ Moon มีบทบาทสำคัญในการพัฒนา University of Technology Sydney (UTS) ให้ก้าวสู่การเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำที่ได้รับการยอมรับในระดับสากล โดยเคยดำรงตำแหน่งคณบดีคณะวิทยาศาสตร์และคณบดีบัณฑิตวิทยาลัย และได้มีบทบาทสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างประเทศไทยและออสเตรเลีย รวมถึงการให้การสนับสนุนและดูแลนักศึกษาไทยที่มาศึกษาในออสเตรเลียมาโดยตลอด นอกจากนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ Moon ยังให้การสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานของสวัสดิภาพสมาคมมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง

ในโอกาสดังกล่าว กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้กล่าวแสดงความยินดีกับการได้รับเหรียญตรา Order of Australia Medal (OAM) อันทรงเกียรติ ซึ่งเป็นการยืนยันถึงการสร้างผลงานที่สำคัญในด้านการศึกษา และขอบคุณ ศาสตราจารย์ Moon สำหรับการดูแลให้ความช่วยเหลือแก่นักศึกษาไทยมาโดยตลอด รวมทั้งการมีบทบาทสำคัญในการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ด้านการศึกษาระหว่างไทยและออสเตรเลีย

On 14 March 2025, Mrs. Hataya Khusakul, Consul General of Thailand in Sydney, hosted a dinner in honour of the Thai Welfare Association and Emeritus Professor Tony Moon on the occasion of his receipt of the prestigious Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education.

Professor Moon has played a pivotal role in advancing and transforming the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) into a globally recognized institution. He had served as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Dean of the Graduate School, leading significant developments within the university. Moreover, he has been instrumental in fostering academic collaboration between Thailand and Australia, as well as in supporting and mentoring Thai students pursuing their studies in Australia. Furthermore, Professor Moon has consistently supported the work of the Thai Welfare Association, demonstrating his dedication to the well-being of the Thai community.

On this occasion, the Consul General expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Professor Moon for his dedication and unwavering support for Thai students over the years. She also extended her warm congratulations on his receipt of the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), emphasizing that this prestigious honour is a testament to his remarkable academic legacy and invaluable contributions—not only to education but also to strengthening the ties between Thailand and Australia.
