เมื่อวันที่ 9 ตุลาคม 2568 นายนฤชัย นินนาท กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ เป็นประธานเปิดงานบรรยายทางวิชาการ Public Lecture on Thai Studies ณ อาคารรัฐสภารัฐนิวเซาท์เวลส์ จัดโดย สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์ ร่วมกับมหาวิทยาลัย Macquarie โดยมี รศ.ดร.นัทธนัย ประสานนาม อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาวรรณคดี คณะมนุษยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ เป็นผู้บรรยายหลัก มีผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมงานจำนวนกว่า 50 คน

ในโอกาสนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ กล่าวถึงอุตสาหกรรมซีรีส์และภาพยนตร์แนว BL (Boys’ Love) และ GL (Girls’ Love) ของไทยว่าเป็นจุดแข็งที่ช่วยส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ของประเทศในฐานะหนึ่งในผู้นำด้านอุตสาหกรรมสร้างสรรค์ระดับโลก ซึ่งสามารถถ่ายทอดอัตลักษณ์ทางวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัยให้เป็นที่รู้จักและยอมรับในระดับสากล พร้อมทั้งเน้นย้ำความสำคัญของความร่วมมือทางการศึกษาอันเป็นโอกาสในการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และพัฒนาความร่วมมือระหว่างนักวิชาการรุ่นใหม่และผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากไทยและออสเตรเลีย

งานในครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงานสัมมนาวิชาการ Southeast Asian Media and Cultural Studies Symposium ในหัวข้อ Y/Boys Love and Yuri/Girls Love Studies in Thailand: Mapping the Field มหาวิทยาลัย Macquarie

On 9 October 2025, Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Consul-General of Thailand in Sydney, presided over the opening of the Public Lecture on Thai Studies held at the Parliament House of New South Wales. The event was co-organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney and Macquarie University. The keynote lecture was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Natthanai Prasannam, Lecturer in the Department of Literature, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University. More than 50 participants attended the event.

On this occasion, the Consul-General highlighted that Thailand’s BL (Boys’ Love) and GL (Girls’ Love) series and films represent a key strength that enhances the country’s image as one of the global leaders in the creative industry. These genres effectively convey Thailand’s contemporary cultural identity to international audiences. He also emphasized the importance of educational collaboration as a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange and partnership development between emerging scholars and experts from Thailand and Australia.

This lecture formed part of the Southeast Asian Media and Cultural Studies Symposium under the theme “Y/Boys Love and Yuri/Girls Love Studies in Thailand: Mapping the Field” at Macquarie University.
