e-Visa Application Procedures

From 19 March 2024, 10.00 hrs (UTC+7), a non-Thai national who currently resides in New South Wales, Australia, and wishes to apply for a Thai visa must apply and submit his/her application through the new online
e-Visa system at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/. Applicants do NOT need to submit their passport to the Consulate-General in person or by post.

The outcome of the application will be sent via email.  Successful applicants will receive their e-Visa via e-mail, and must print out the e-Visa to be presented to airlines and the Thai Immigration Bureau.

Attention:

  • The e-Visa processing time is usually 10 business days but may take longer during high season. Some cases may require additional documents, as the Royal Thai Consulate-General may require approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affair in Thailand before your visa can be issued. This may require additional time up to 4-6 weeks. Please allow enough time for processing.

  • Tourist visa and Non-Immigrant visa typically have a validity period of 3 months (90 days) from the date of issuance. That is, the visa must be used within 90 days after the date of grant.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, we recommend applying for your visa approximately one month, before your departure date.
  • Applicants can monitor the status of their applications through their online account. Please allow for an additional minimun 10 business days if further documents are requested by the Consulate-General.

  • Please double-check all your information before submitting your application, especially if your device is using the auto-fill or auto-correct feature. The Consulate-General cannot edit any information once the application has been submitted by the applicant. If the application is rejected, the applicants will have to re-submit his/her application and the application fee (visa fee) is non-refundable.

  • Payments must be made with a Visa or a Mastercard, not an Amex or American Express Card.

  • The approved visa (e-Visa PDF file) will be sent to the applicant via email. If your application has been approved but there is no confirmation email, please check the spam or junk email folder. The e-Visa PDF file can also be downloaded directly from your online account.

  • All applicants are strongly advised to thoroughly read through the
User Manual or watch the user's manual video clips prior to starting the application process.

If the applicant fails to submit the required or requested documents within 45 days from the date of submission, the applications will be automatically cancelled. The application fee (visa fee) is non-refundable.
