Remark: Payments must be made with a Visa or a Mastercard, not an Amex or American Express Card.

Do I still need to post the document to the Consulate-General or come in person?

No.

All visa applications must be submitted through the e-Visa portal (https://thaievisa.go.th/). Please note that applicants are no longer required to post anything to the Consulate-General and the Consulate-General does not accept walk-ins or drop-offs.

What is a stickerless e-Visa?

The Consulate-General is currently using a new e-Visa system which no longer requires the applicant to submit his/her passport and original supporting documents through post/in-person.

The outcome of the application will be sent via email.  Successful applicants will receive their e-Visa via e-mail, and must print out the e-Visa to be presented to airlines and Thai Immigration.

Currently, applicants can apply for every types of visas through the e-Visa portal except the Thailand Elite visa.

What is the process of getting a stickerless e-Visa?

1. Check whether you need a visa to travel to Thailand:

*If the purpose is tourism with a stay less than 30 days in Thailand, Australian passport holders do not need a visa. Their entry will come under the "VISA EXEMPTION" scheme The period of stay cannot be extended.

2. If you need a visa, you may apply for an E-visa at www.thaievisa.go.th :

- If the visa application is approved, you will receive the e-Visa via email.

Many factors play a role in the visa processing times. However, you should see the updates on your visa application dashboard within 10 business days.  (To check the status, please sign in to the www.thaievisa.go.th)

How to check your e-Visa application status?

Note: The visa application process starts when all the required documents are uploaded. After the submission of all documents, expect up to 5 days for the visa application status to be updated.

If the visa application status does not update, it is likely your application is not complete or the provided documents did not meet the requirementsIn cases where the Consulate-General requires more information or documents, the Consulate-General will send an email to the applicant directly. Please check your email thoroughly by searching for emailsfrom [email protected]

If the application status is "Payment problem / Pending payment", what should I do?

If you successfully submitted the application in the system, the status will not show "pending payment", but will show "processing".

If the status of your application shows pending payment, please proceed with your payment.  See sections below/read the User Manual / watch the video manual for more information.

In cases where the system indicates “payment failed or cancelled”, please try to use a different bank card or contact your card issuer or bank.  The transaction is an international transaction and your issuer/bank may suspect it as a fraudulent activity. Once the issuer/bank has been informed, you can attempt the payment again.

In cases where the system indicates “The service has a problem or not available now”, please check your internet connection or try to switch to a different web browser.

If you have tried the above recommendations and are still not able to pay, please email us at [email protected] and include all of the following information:

1. Your full name as it appears on the application and E-Visa Request No.
2. An explanation of your problem.
3. Video recording of your computer screen when making the payment

If there is no email from the Consulate-General, and would like to inquire about the requested document, you can email to [email protected] with your question. Please include Full Name, Passport number, and Type of visa requested in the email.
