Do I need a visa for tourist purposes?
1. TOURIST VISA EXEMPTION
Some applicants may enter Thailand without a visa under the Visa Exemption program. Nationalities under the Visa Exemption Program and holding a valid ordinary passport are allowed to enter Thailand for tourism purposes without a visa with a period of stay of 30 days.


Some counties may allow staying longer, please check the list below.

2. TOURIST VISA (TR)
This visa category lets holders visit Thailand for tourism purposes for up to 60 days.
- The Visa section opening hours are Mon - Fri between 9.30 - 12.30 ONLY.
- Applicants are requested to submit an online application and have an invitation email prior to visiting the visa counter.
- Upon receiving your application, it takes at least 10 working days to get a visa stamp, excluding the postage time. The processing time can take longer in certain cases.

- You are recommended to apply for a visa at least 4-8 weeks before the travel date but do not submit your application more than 3 months before your departure date.
- The visa fee is non-refundable.
*** For applicants who are holding Australian Tourist visa subclass 600, you are requested to submit further documents following; Australian visa status of your family members
1. If applicants have family members who are permanent residents in Australia (PR) or Australian citizens, please submit
- Their visa status (PR grant) or Australian passport
- Proof of relationship with you e.g. birth certificate, house registration or child/children birth certificate or Family booklet registration
- Letter of guarantee
2. If applicants have family members who are holding a temporary visa in Australia e.g. Student visa (SC500), Postgraduate visa (SC485), Partner visa and etc., please submit
- Their visa status/ Visa grant / VEVO check (the validity of their visa must valid for more than 6 months)
- Proof of relationship with you e.g. birth certificate, house registration, or child/children birth certificate or Family booklet registration
- Their student card or proof of residency in Australia (Utility bills)
- Bank statements for the past 6 months with a minimum balance of AUD 2,000
- Letter of guarantee
3. VISA ON ARRIVAL
Passport holders of the following countries and territories may apply for VISA ON ARRIVAL to enter Thailand at any international airport in Thailand
01. Bhutan: Kingdom of Bhutan
02. Bulgaria: Republic of Bulgaria
03. China: People’s Republic of China
04. Cyprus: Republic of Cyprus
05. Ethiopia Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
06. Fiji (Country in the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra)
07. Georgia
08. India
09. Kazakhstan: Republic of Kazakhstan
10. Malta
11. Mexico: Republic of Mexico
12. Nauru
13. Papua New Guinea (Country in the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra)
14. Romania
15. Saudi Arabia:
16. Taiwan
17. Uzbekistan

Remarks
- The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary as well as reject any application without prejudice.
- The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants are found to provide false documents or give false information, their applications will be rejected and be reported for further determination of appropriate action and future prohibition to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
- Visa processing fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.
