SPECIAL TOURSIT VISA CATEGORY “STV”
with effective period from 7 October 2020 to 30 September 2021

1. Eligible Applicants for STV

- This category of visa is issued to Australian Residents (Australian citizens and Permanent Residents) who currently residing in Australia and their spouse, child, or children (age under 20 years old) for the sole purpose of tourism only.

2. STV Conditions

- STV is valid for a single entry into Thailand for a long-term stay for tourism purposes only.
- Applications for STV can be submitted by those residing in the country with a low-rate of confirmed COVID-19 cases as determined fortnightly and officially by Announcement of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand. However, the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney reserve the right to put all applications on hold as deemed necessary until further notice.
- STV is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 3-month period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days, counting from the date of entry. STV may be extended twice while the visitor is in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days per each extension.
Those entering Thailand with STV from 3 July 2021 onwards, will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days, which cannot be extended.
Those entering Thailand with STV before 3 July 2021, i.e. their initial period of 90 days expired before or on 30 September 2021, can seek the extension of their stay for a further 90 days. They must submit their request for extension *before* 30 September 2021.
- STV cannot be changed to any other type of visa during the duration of stay in Thailand.
- If the STV holder is found to be in breach of the conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked immediately and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand.

3. STV Application Procedures

Each applicant must submit a complete online form together with the required documents* to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney. Prepare required documents as follows:

Completed Visa Application Form

One (1) passport-sized photograph affixed to the Visa Application Form

- Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

- White background and no older than 6 months

Passport

- A minimum validity of six months from the date of planned entry to Thailand

- Must have at least two empty pages

4.

Proof of an Australian Electronic Visa (only for Permanent Resident in Australia)

- Visa grant page or VEVO check status page

Proof of adequate finance

- A bank statement in the past six months showing a deposit account with the minimum fund of THB 10,000 per person, or THB 20,000 per family

Proof of long-stay accommodation: either

- A fully-paid hotel reservation in Thailand for the whole duration of intended stay in Thailand (after the 14-day quarantine). The reservation must be issued by the hotel showing the duration of stay, and hotel’s contact details and tax ID number;

- A fully-paid residential lease in Thailand for the whole duration of intended stay in Thailand (after the 14-day quarantine). The lease must be issued by the lessor showing the duration of stay, and the lessor’s contact details and tax ID number;

- A hire-purchase or mortgage agreement of immovable property in Thailand; OR

- Condominium title deed in Thailand;

Proof of COVID-19 health insurance

- A COVID-19 health insurance for medical treatment expenditures of COVID-19, covering at least USD 100,000 during the entire stay in Thailand.  The insurance policy must cover a period of at least 3 months, and must clearly state coverage for expenditures occurring from COVID-19 treatments.

- List of recommended health insurers: AETNA/ Asia Insurance/ AXA / Bangkok Insurance/ LMG/ Navakij/ Pacific Cross Health Insurance / Southeast Insurance/ Tune/ Viriyah 

8.

Health Insurance

- A certificate of health insurance issued by Thai insurance companies covering the entire period of stay in Thailand containing the detail of coverage as follows; In-house patients of not less than THB 400,000/policy year, as for out-patients, not less than THB 40,000/policy year. Police Clearance Certificate

- “Police name check certificate” issued less than 3 months prior to submitting the visa application. More information can be found on https://afpnationalpolicechecks.converga.com.au/

10.

Medical Certificate Form

- A complete “Medical Certificate Form” with a valid/legal rubber stamp of medical doctor to confirm its authenticity, issued from the country where the application is submitted, showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535).

Visa fee

- AUD 120

- Payment can be made by cash, debit or credit card (payment in person at the Consulate-General only). For money order, or cheque, paid to “Royal Thai Consulate-General, Sydney”

 

4. STV processing times

- Visa processing time is usually 3 days
- Certain applications which require special consideration may take longer to process.

5. Remarks

- The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary as well as reject any application without prejudice.
- The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants are found to provide false documents or give false information, their applications will be rejected and be reported for further determination of appropriate action and future prohibition to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
- Visa processing fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.
- Visa processing fee is subject to change without prior notice.
