1. Eligible Applicants for O Retirement Visa
- This category of visa is issued to the applicant who is an Australian national or a permanent resident (for non-Australian) currently residing in Australia whose age is 50 years or over and are currently residing in Australia.

2. O Retirement Conditions
- Period of stay: Holder of O Retirement Visa is allowed to stay in Thailand for 90 days (single entry).
- Extension: If a traveler would like to stay longer, it is possible to extend your stay up to 1 year. An application can be submitted at the immigration office in Thailand
- Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited.
- If the O Retirement Visa holder breaches the entry conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

3. O Retirement Visa Application Procedures

Each applicant must submit a complete online form together with the required documents* to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney. Prepare required documents as follows:

Two (2) passport-sized photographs affix to the visa application form

- Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

- White background and no older than 6 months

Passport

- A minimum validity of 18 months from the date of planned entry to Thailand

- Must have at least two empty pages

Proof of an Australian Electronic Visa or Permanent residence permit (for non-Australian Nationals)

- Visa grant page or VEVO check status page

Proof of adequate finance

- A bank statement in the past six months showing a deposit account with the minimum fund of AUD 2,000

Health Insurance

- A certificate of health insurance issued by Thai insurance companies covering the entire period of stay in Thailand containing the detail of coverage as follows; In-house patients of not less than THB 400,000/policy year, as for out-patients, not less than THB 40,000/policy year. - A photo of the medical insurance policy (in English) which expressly covers treatment and medical expenses in relation to COVID-19, with minimum coverage of 100,000 USD. The insurance must cover the total duration of stay in Thailand.

- Payment can be made by cash, debit, or credit card (payment in person at the Consulate-General only). For money order, or cheque paid to “Royal Thai Consulate-General, Sydney”

 

4. O Retirement Visa processing times
- The visa processing time is usually 3-5 working days.
- Certain applications which require special consideration may take longer to process.

5. Remarks
- The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary as well as reject any application without prejudice.
- The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants are found to provide false documents or give false information, their applications will be rejected and be reported for further determination of appropriate action and future prohibition to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
- Visa processing fees are the non-refundable regardless of outcome.
