NON-IMMIGRANT VISA TYPE “O” (For Volunteer)

 

1. Eligible Applicants for Non-O Volunteer Visa Category

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to visit Thailand for a volunteer to work in a non-government organization in Thailand;

2. Non-O Volunteer Visa Conditions

  • Non-O Volunteer is valid for a single entry 90 days
  • If the Non-O Volunteer holder is found to be in breach of the conditions for entry into Thailand, the stay permit will be revoked immediately and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand.

3. Pronouncement:

  • The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney reserve the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary as well as reject any application without prejudice.
  • The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants are found to provide false documents or give false information, their applications will be rejected and be reported for further determination of appropriate action and future prohibition to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
  • Visa processing time may vary depending on the demand and/or information to be reviewed which may take up to 15 working days.

4. Non-O Volunteer Visa Application Procedures

Each applicant must submit a complete online form together with the required documents* to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney or submit the application to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, please contact visa.can@mfa.mail.go.th

1.

Visa Application form

· Download form, fill, print and sign where applicable

2.

One (1) passport-sized photograph affixes to the visa application form

· Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

· Light background (passport standard) and no older than 6 months

3.

Passport

· A minimum validity of six months until the date of travel

· Must have at least one blank page

4.

Photocopies of

· Your passport’s data page (A4 size copy)

· Your driver license OR photo card

5.

Proof of an Australian Electronic Visa (only for non-Australian)

· Visa grant OR VEVO check

6.

Invitation letter

· An invitation or acceptance letter from the concerned organization in Thailand indicating position, responsibilities, and length of stay in Thailand

7.

A copy of passport or I.D. card of a person who signs an invitation or acceptance letter

8.

Organization’s registration or license

· A copy of the concerned organization’s registration or license in Thailand as a non-profit organization

9.

COVID-19 health insurance

· A COVID-19 health insurance covering medical treatment expenditures of COVID-19, worth at least USD 100,000 during the entire stay in Thailand (policy must cover at least 3 months).  The insurance policy must clearly state that it includes expenditures occurring from COVID-19 treatments.

· List of recommended health insurance: Pacific Cross Health Insurance / Aetna/ Viriyah/ Navakij/ Axa / Tune/ Southeast Insurance/ LMG/ Asia Insurance/ Bangkok Insurance

Visa fee

· AUD 120 for Single Entry

· Pay by card/cash OR money order/ bank cheque paid to Royal Thai Consulate-General Sydney

 

5. Flights to Thailand

Option 1 Semi-commercial flights to Thailand

Certain airlines are now permitted to operate semi-commercial flights to Thailand, namely, Emirates, Etihad, EVA, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airline, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss Air, KLM, Air France and etc.

Option 2 Special chartered flights organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney

6. Application for the Certificate of Entry (COE)

Upon approving Non-O Volunteer visa, the applicants will have to apply for the COE via https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/

Please note the followings:

  • Upon entry into Thailand, all applicants are required to undergo 10-day Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ). For more information, please visit http://hsscovid.com/. Evidence of reservation for ASQ for a minimum period of 10 days from the date of the arrival in Thailand will be required for COE application.
  • All the applicants are required to obtain COVID-19 health insurance covering medical treatment expenditures of COVID-19, worth at least USD 100,000 during the entire stay in Thailand as part of the application to obtain COE. The insurance policy must clearly state that it includes expenditures occurring from COVID-19 treatments.
  • List of recommended health insurance: Pacific Cross Health Insurance / Regency Health Insurance / April International / Luma Thailand / Axa / Tune
  1. At the Departure Airport and upon Entry into Thailand

All applicants with approved Non-O Volunteer visas will be required to present the following documents to the airline check-in staff at the departure airport and concerned authorities upon arrival in Thailand:
