NON-IMMIGRANT VISA TYPE “ED”

(For Education)

 

1. Eligible Applicants for Non-ED Visa Category

This type of visa is issued to applicants who are students of educational establishments in Thailand approved by Thai authorities, including their parents or guardians, except for students of non-formal schools in accordance with laws on private schools or of any other similar private educational establishments;

 

2. Non-ED Visa Conditions

  • Non-ED is valid for a single entry 90 days
  • If the Non-ED holder is found to be in breach of the conditions for entry into Thailand, the stay permit will be revoked immediately and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand.

 

3. Pronouncement:

  • The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney reserve the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary as well as reject any application without prejudice.
  • The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants are found to provide false documents or give false information, their applications will be rejected and be reported for further determination of appropriate action and future prohibition to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
  • Visa processing time may vary depending on the demand and/or information to be reviewed which may take up to 15 working days.

 

4. Non-ED Visa Application Procedures

Each applicant must submit a complete online form together with the required documents* to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney.

· Download form, fill, print and sign where applicable

One (1) passport-sized photograph affixes to the visa application form

· Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

· Light background (passport standard) and no older than 6 months

· A minimum validity of six months until the date of travel

· Must have at least one blank page

4.

Photocopies of

· Your passport’s data page (A4 size copy)

· Your driver license OR photo card

5.

Proof of an Australian Electronic Visa (only for non-Australian)

· Visa grant OR VEVO check

6.

Education provider

· A copy of a school’s profile, registration or license in Thailand

7.

Confirmation letter

· Transcript/Letter of acceptance from the concerned schools/universities or institutes in Thailand indicating length of stay and your field of study

COVID-19 health insurance

· A COVID-19 health insurance covering medical treatment expenditures of COVID-19, worth at least USD 100,000 during the entire stay in Thailand (policy must cover at least 3 months).  The insurance policy must clearly state that it includes expenditures occurring from COVID-19 treatments.

· List of recommended health insurance: Pacific Cross Health Insurance / Aetna/ Viriyah/ Navakij/ Axa / Tune/ Southeast Insurance/ LMG/ Asia Insurance/ Bangkok Insurance

Visa fee

· AUD 120 for Single Entry

· Pay by card/cash OR money order/ bank cheque paid to Royal Thai Consulate-General Sydney

 

  

5. Flights to Thailand

Option 1 Semi-commercial flights to Thailand

Certain airlines are now permitted to operate semi-commercial flights to Thailand, namely, Emirates, Etihad, EVA, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airline, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss Air, KLM, Air France and etc.

Option 2 Special chartered flights organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Sydney

6. Application for the Certificate of Entry (COE)

Upon approving a Non-ED visa, the applicants will have to apply for the COE via coethailand.mfa.go.th

Please note the followings:

  • Upon entry into Thailand, all applicants are required to undergo 10-day Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ). For more information, please visit http://hsscovid.com/. Evidence of reservation for ASQ for a minimum period of 10 days from the date of the arrival in Thailand will be required for the COE application.
  • All the applicants are required to obtain COVID-19 health insurance covering medical treatment expenditures of COVID-19, worth at least USD 100,000 during the entire stay in Thailand as part of the application to obtain COE. The insurance policy must clearly state that it includes expenditures occurring from COVID-19 treatments. 7. At the Departure Airport and upon Entry into Thailand

All applicants with approved Non-ED visas will be required to present the following documents to the airline check-in staff at the departure airport and concerned authorities upon arrival in Thailand:
